Pieces of information sent over the Internet are called –

A Packet is a small unit of data transmitted over a computer network or the Internet. Before data is sent, it is divided into multiple packets. Each packet contains a portion of the data along with addressing and control information. At the destination, all the packets are reassembled to reconstruct the original message.
पैकेट (Packet) डेटा की एक छोटी इकाई (Small Unit of Data) होती है, जिसे कंप्यूटर नेटवर्क या इंटरनेट पर भेजा जाता है। डेटा को भेजने से पहले कई छोटे-छोटे पैकेटों में विभाजित किया जाता है। प्रत्येक पैकेट में डेटा का एक भाग तथा आवश्यक पता (Address) और नियंत्रण (Control) संबंधी जानकारी होती है। गंतव्य (Destination) पर सभी पैकेटों को पुनः जोड़कर मूल संदेश तैयार किया जाता है।
